Hello, my name is Dr. Melissa Smits, I am a proud CVMA member who teaches Veterinary Technology at the Community College of Denver (CCD). I’m reaching out to share an exciting opportunity that could be a perfect fit for your hospital or clinic.
Our Veterinary Technology Apprenticeship Program offers a unique pathway for your employees to become registered veterinary technicians (RVTs) while continuing to work with you. This program is designed to provide a seamless blend of education and hands-on experience tailored to meet the needs of busy professionals and supportive employers like you.
Key Benefits of the Program:
- Work and Learn: Employees can maintain their current positions while completing all coursework online. We recommend working no more than 30 hours weekly to ensure success in the program.
- Practical Training: AVMA-required essential skills are completed on-site at your clinic, with additional Friday labs led by CCD instructors.
- Award-Winning Program: This program earned the 2023 Colorado Apprenticeship Award for its innovation and effectiveness.
- Comprehensive Curriculum: The program runs for five continuous semesters (21 months), including Winterim terms, to provide consistent learning and skill-building without traditional college breaks.
If you have team members you’d love to see advance their careers and bring more value to your clinic, this program could be the perfect solution. Even those needing to fulfill prerequisites can start as Pre-Apprentices to prepare for enrollment.
