2026 CVMA Board Election Concludes: Nominees Elected by Acclamation

Congratulations to the following CVMA members on their new positions on the CVMA Board of Directors for 2026-2027.

The CVMA Nominating Committee presented its slate of nominees in June 2026. With no additional candidates put forward during the nomination by petition period, these nominees are declared elected by acclamation. They will be formally installed and officially assume their new roles at the CE West on September 26, 2026 in Glenwood Springs, CO. According to the CVMA Bylaws, the following officer roles transition automatically without going through the nominations process: Immediate past president, president, secretary/treasurer, and AVMA delegate.

The 2026-2027 CVMA Board of Directors:

Kevin Lisenbee, DVM – CVMA President-elect 2026-2027

Dr. Kevin Lisenbee | President-elect

Dr. Kevin Lisenbee is a small animal general practitioner in Colorado Springs and currently serves as the CVMA Secretary/Treasurer.

Originally from Oklahoma, he moved to the Pikes Peak region after graduating from Oklahoma State University in 2014.

His involvement with organized veterinary medicine was inspired by his transformative experience as an alumnus of the CVMA Power of 10 Class of 2022, which led him to serve as CVMA Chapter 7 President.

Professionally, he focuses on dentistry, spay/neuter, student mentorship, and health certificates. Outside of his practice, Dr. Lisenbee enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with their Cavalier King Charles puppy.

Ron Carsten, DVM – CVMA Secretary/Treasurer elect 2026-2027

Dr. Ron Carsten | Secretary/Treasurer-elect

Dr. Ron Carsten is a practice owner in Glenwood Springs and has been active with the CVMA Advocacy Commission since 2025.

He began his career as a certified veterinary technician before earning his DVM from Colorado State University in 1986, later completing an MS in Anatomy and Neurobiology and a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology. His extensive experience spans mixed, small, emergency, and integrative practices, alongside notable contributions to research, academia, and regulation.

A recipient of the 2022 CVMA Distinguished Service Award and a past State Board of Veterinary Medicine president, Dr. Carsten is dedicated to lifelong learning, teaching as an adjunct faculty member, and writing a monthly pet health column.
