VIN Foundation Student Debt Center – a free resource for all things related to educational debt, in particular, veterinary students’ debt.

The Student Debt Center is made up of the following sections:

  • The Cost of Education Map, which gives a look at the cost of veterinary schools, taking into consideration in-state, out-of-state, and private tuition along with living expenses.
  • The Student Loan Repayment Simulator, an interactive program giving detailed repayment cost comparisons based on anticipated income, family information, total loan amount, and repayment plan. A forgiveness planning module also helps those using income-driven repayment plans to understand and plan for the estimated tax consequences of debt forgiveness.
  • WikiDebt, a resource library for all things dealing with educational debt specific to veterinary students and veterinarians.

Veterinary Information Network – The Veterinary Information Network is the oldest and largest online medical information service devoted to veterinary medicine. It is run by veterinarians, for veterinarians.

VIN Foundation – The VIN Foundation offers numerous tools and programs to reach out, support, and help mentor veterinarians through their careers.

VETVANCE has brought together contributors from across the country to impart years of practical experience to help new veterinarians like you establish your career. Their various areas of expertise as well as diverse backgrounds help us to bring you the information you need to handle the non-clinical aspects of your business.

VETVANCE also provides job search, personal wellness, and connection resources, as well as online education in business skills, professional development, financial literacy, professional stewardship, and personal wellness.

AVMA PLIT “Cover Your Assets” Module
The AVMA PLIT launched a new online resource for veterinary students called “Cover Your Assets.” The student module was created to educate students on protecting their reputations and careers with the right insurance coverage.

“Cover Your Assets” is segmented into four brief videos and covers the types of claims and complaints, best practices to avoid complaints, and lessons learned. The videos do not have to be watched all at once, the system will keep track of where a viewer left off. Dr. Nina Mouledous appears in the video along with Anthony DeVito, JD, a Veterinary License Defense Attorney, to provide their expertise. Following the video, students are prompted to take a quiz and, if successful, will be provided with a certificate of completion. Students now have the option to include their certificate of completion in their Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA) Honors Portfolio starting in the spring semester for 2017.
