04 May Castle Rock Ends Pit Bull Ban

Pit bulls are now legal in Castle Rock after City Council there voted 5-0 to rescind the 25-year-old breed ban Tuesday night. 27 Apr Puppy Diagnosed in Pueblo County, Second Exposed Dog at Large

An 8 month old puppy was diagnosed with rabies in Pueblo County. The puppy presented to a veterinary clinic after hours on 04/19/2018 for seizures, with a history of ataxia at home. The puppy did not improve with treatment and the owners elected euthanasia. The veterinarian contacted the local public health department due to the concern for rabies. Testing was completed at the state laboratory and it was positive for rabies. A second dog that lived in the same household as the rabid dog is known to be unvaccinated. The owners...
