2002 Animal Chiropractic Sunrise Application and Review
In 2002, the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) submitted a sunrise application to the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) for review. In short, the AVCA proposed licensing Colorado-licensed doctors of veterinary medicine (DVMs) and Colorado-licensed doctors of chiropractic (DCs) as animal chiropractors. Among other things, the AVCA’s proposed regulatory scheme would have eliminated the requirement that provides that anyone who is not a DVM who treats an animal must be supervised by a DVM.
