07 May Members Represent CVMA at Furry Scurry

Denver’s Washington Park overflowed with dogs and their people during the 25th Annual Dumb Friends League Furry Scurry event on May 5, where more than 12,000 participants and their 5,000 canine companions showed up for the annual dog walk that raises money for shelter pets.

CVMA staffed a booth where member veterinarians volunteered time to talk to pet owners and provide general pet healthcare advice while also offering on-the-spot microchip scanning. While most of the pets we saw were microchipped, many owners were unsure of their pet’s ID numbers and if they were up-to-date with their current information. CVMA volunteers provided the necessary information to make sure their pet’s microchips are current.

We were excited to see so many adopted pets at the event, and pleased to provide reliable pet health information and keep pet owners informed about their microchips to expedite a reunion in the event that they are lost.

A big THANK YOU to our volunteers who spent the day promoting pet wellness and the importance of microchipping!
